Frequently Asked Questions
1. What file formats do you accept?
We accept all file formats, native files as well as HiRes - Press Ready PDF's. Please go to our Prepress page and download our Acrobat Distiller Settings to ensure “Accurate” file creation. If you have any questions, please email prepress@accurateprinting.com.
2. How should I submit my artwork?
Files can easily be transferred to us by going to our Uploads link at the bottom right on every page of our site. You can get your upload username and password from your Account Rep or CSR. Please call us if you are unsure of any aspect of your file submission.
3. What is a PDF?

4. What is a "Press Ready" or "Hi Res" PDF?
A Press Ready PDF is a PDF document that has been created using Distiller settings optimized for commercial printing purposes. We have created a custom Distiller Settings file for our prepress and press environment. You can download it from the Prepress page from the QuickLinks at the left. Please contact us with any questions you have about intalling or using this file.
5. How long does it take for my order to be completed?
Some jobs can be produced in minutes and some jobs may take days. Communication is the key. Let us know when you need your job completed and ready to deliver, and we will go above and beyond to accommodate your schedule.
6. What exactly is a "proof"?
A proof is a way of ensuring the accuracy of your printed piece. Usually, we will produce a proof that could be sent to you via email, viewed and approved on our WebApproval system or printed imposed and in high res, calibrated color. Different customers have different comfort levels with proofing and we accommodate them all.
7. Why do I need to view a proof?
Final approval of a proof is critical in ensuring that you are satisfied with every aspect of your job and approve it as being accurate for your needs in terms of color, content and positioning. Both “soft” proofs (PDFs or our WebApproval online proofing) and traditional hard copy proofs can be used to ensure correctness of your jobs.
8. Do I still need to approve a proof if I supply the files to you on a disk?
It may seem like a proof would be unnecessary in this scenario but it really is not. The files you send us, even if they are PDFs still have to be processed by our prepress system and made ready to print. Your approval of the proof we provide you, assures that your files have been correctly interpreted and processed the information you provided.
9. How can we quickly get an estimate from you?
To ensure we get complete specs on your job, we suggest using our online estimate request form. Otherwise, you can email the specs to your Account Representative or to Steve Marks in Estimating at estimating@accurateprinting.com.
